About the role:
As a Cook at RSL LifeCare, every day you’re empowered to make a meaningful difference to people’s lives. Within our supportive work environment your skills and compassion are valued. You will have the opportunity to:

• Assist in the planning, cooking and preparation of the full range of meals
• Participate in current food operation – cook-fresh and cook-chill.
• Preparation and service of meals ensuring nutritious and wholesome food and variety of food.
• Preparation of special diets and modified diets as required.
• Preparation and service of meals for functions

About You:
We are excited to hear from you about this role! We are looking out for:

• Your demonstrated compassion and empathy. Our teams have a passion for what they do and the impact they make to our residents and their families.

• Your excellent communication skills, both verbal and written to ensure the best possible resident experience and teamwork

• Previous experience in bulk cooking, preferably in aged care

• Your ability to work efficiently and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards

• Current knowledge of Food Handling Legislative including HACCP requirements

• Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery as well as Food Safety Certification

• Australian Working Rights

It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role.
