Strategic Lead (Assessment Transformation)

About This Opportunity

As the Strategic Lead (Assessment Transformation), you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of assessment at UQ. You will lead and coordinate the implementation of innovative assessment strategies, leveraging AI to enhance student learning and maintain academic integrity. This role involves collaborating with faculty, staff, and students to develop and implement best practices in assessment design and delivery.

You will be responsible for overseeing a team of faculty-based Learning Designers, providing leadership, guidance, and support. You will also work closely with ITaLI and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment with broader University initiatives.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Lead the transformation of assessment practices, aligning with University goals and emerging technologies.
  • Mentor and support a team of faculty-based Learning Designers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Develop and implement assessment policies and guidelines, ensuring alignment with academic integrity and quality standards.
  • Build strong relationships with faculty, ITaLI, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and support.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in assessment and learning technologies and conduct research to inform innovative practices.

About You

  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications or extensive experience in education, learning design, or assessment.
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
  • Deep understanding of contemporary teaching and learning practices, including assessment design and delivery. Experience in leveraging technology to enhance student learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders. Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively.
  • Ability to provide strategic leadership and guidance to faculty and staff. Experience in leading and managing teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing innovative teaching and learning practices.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and may be required to complete background checks including but not limited to criminal history and education checks. Employer sponsored work rights are not available for this appointment.
