Ravensworth Operations comprises of Ravensworth Open Cut and the Coal Handling Preparation Plant that provides high quality coal for the export market.  The operation has approval to mine over 14Mtpa, with a long life of mine.  Ideally located in NSW Hunter Valley near Singleton, willing applicants have the opportunity to live, work and play in a region that is synonymous with revitalisation and growth, is community minded and offers a mix of affordable living, quality education and outstanding sports and recreation facilities.

The Role

An opportunity exists at our operation for a Health and Safety Officer, reporting to the HST Manager, you will be primarily responsible for;

  • Managing and improving the site occupational hygiene monitoring programs
  • Assisting with work related and non-work related injury management
  • Facilitating risk assessments and conducting quality observations to enhance risk assessments used in the field including SLAM’s and JSA’s
  • Provide support to the operational area and HST team with strong customer service to provide proactive solutions and to facilitate effective health and safety management and a positive safety culture.
  • Analysis of data to identify trends, measure performance, and inform decision-making.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have;

  • Cert IV in Work Health and Safety, or relevant qualification
  • Knowledge of contemporary Work Health and Safety Practices
  • Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills with the ability to lead, persuade, negotiate, consult with, and provide advice on workers compensation claims management and rehabilitation issues.
  • Ability to assist and manage workers compensation claims management processes and early intervention strategies
