Clermont Open Cut is seeking an experienced Open Cut Examiner/Supervisor to join our dynamic Mining team on site. Located on the western edge of the Bowen Basin, Clermont Open Cut is a high performing truck & shovel operation that produces 12 million tonnes of coal per annum. Clermont Open Cut Operation is a safe, dynamic, and inclusive workplace focused on delivering high performance outcomes.  Reporting to the Mining Superintendent, this role will offer variety and opportunity to the right individual.

In this role key responsibilities will include:

• The safety and health of all persons and equipment in and around the mining operation
• Providing visible leadership and direct the Mining team to achieve agreed KPI’s
• Working closely with dispatch, production crews and drill & blast to ensure tasks are identified and completed
• Demonstrating a strong commitment to identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities and supervision of an efficient production team

Requirements of the role include:

• Certificate IV in Surface Coal Mining (Open Cut Examiner qualification)
• Extensive experience and knowledge of truck & shovel mining practices and the required statutory inspections
• Thorough understanding of mine monitoring control systems
• Proactive attitude to safety, a strong work ethic and leadership capabilities
• QLD Drivers Licence

This role requires a safety conscious candidate prepared to challenge the norm, drive continuous improvement and who can demonstrate experience in implementing best practise using a hands-on approach.
